At Lincoln, Garrett feels that two of his math teachers had the greatest positive impact on him and his success. Those two people are Mr. Tinling and Mr. Hamilton. They both encouraged his curiosity in mathematics and mentored him in ways that are still impacting him today. He believes that they are the only reason why he has been tutoring math for the last six years, and why he would like to teach his own classroom one day.

Garrett’s favorite extracurricular activity at Lincoln was playing and watching sports. He thinks that nothing was more fun than being with his friends and supporting his school, either on the field or in stands.

Garrett considers getting admitted to Harvey Mudd College, and having since graduated, as one of his greatest accomplishments so far in his life.

One piece of advice Garrett would give to an incoming first year at Lincoln is "Surround yourself with people who value you, those are the friendships that will last." He recommends finding activities and people that they want to be around, and not giving time and attention to those you do not.

We're looking forward to following your career, Garrett!
