Recommended Book: "Excellent Sheep" - William Deresiewicz
A meaningful read for any high school student, but especially at an academically competitive school such as Lincoln. The book provides perspective on what students should hope to get out of the college experience.
Danny Luo started at the University of Southern California in the fall of 2020. He plans to earn a dual degree in Global Health and International Relations.
Ms. Beck, HL Math teacher at Lincoln, had a significant positive impact on Danny's learning. Ms. Beck taught him more than just Math - she taught him how to think in general. Danny has found that the critical thinking skills and analytical problem-solving approach he learned from Ms. Beck have been extremely helpful in his academic pursuits, as well as life in general.
While Danny was a student at Lincoln, his favorite extracurricular activity was the tennis team. It was an incredibly rewarding experience and made the second half of the year so much fun. For Danny, the tennis team provided a second family of teammates and coaches that he couldn't be more grateful for.
Danny continues to wake up every day, excited to challenge himself and grow as an individual. He considers this his greatest accomplishment in life so far.
In the summer of 2020, Danny was given an opportunity to intern in China. He is unsure what will happen now, given the current global health circumstances, but hopes everything will work out.
We are excited to see all the great things you will accomplish, Danny!
